Alex hails from Toronto, Canada and has gigged sporadically in Toronto until he came to the UK to visit his friend in September 2001. He was blown away by the massive comedy scene here, and found himself at home amongst his English countrymen. After a couple of subsequent visits, Alex moved to London in September 2002 and performs vehemently in venues all across the U.K.  

Alex is very versatile, and has great success in various types of gigs including including weddings, corporate gigs, and theatres.  Alex is one of the few white acts to play the U.K black circuit, including regular appearances at Da Comedy Funhouse, London.  
In 2006 Lasarev took his new show “Illegal Import” to the Edinburgh fringe festival. The show packed out virtually every night and received excellent reviews! He’s performed “Illegal Import” @ the transac club in his home town of Toronto, and You can check out “Illegal Import” one night only on Oct 29th @ Charlie’s in Manchester, and at the Etcetera theatre in London Nov 7th-12th. Also, Alex is currently preparing to do some dates of his new show in the republic of Ireland.  He is also making arrangements for a run of the show at the Leicester, and Melbourne comedy festivals.
